Once upon a microphone…
Mac Duffy is an imaginative Actor, Storyteller, Musical Improviser and Puppeteer with over 30 years of experience. He started creating characters and their voices to entertain his 5 siblings with improvised audio reenactments of their favorite TV shows. From there he started creating and telling his own adventures, and he hasn’t stopped talking since!
Mac’s natural voice has an approachable everyman quality, and he uses his extensive training and background as an actor and storyteller to bring to life a wide array of grounded personalities that range from earnest and heartfelt to quirky and dangerous. His robust experience in comedy & improv enables him to heighten those personalities into engaging characters - examples include friendly wizard, quirky steampunk mechanic and ominous ogre - that are perfect for animation and video games.
Mac has a soundproof home studio, and he is ready and available to help create entertaining and effective commercials, animation, video games, narration, and more!
CREDITS
In addition to lots of theatre, storytelling and improv, Mac’s acting credits include a fun role in pilot #1 of the new Night Court, as well as TV commercials for AT&T, Toyota, Microsoft and AAMCO. But his all-time favorite acting opportunity is delighting children and their families with all the characters he embodies in the Dungeons & Dragons games he creates for them!
TRAINING
Mac trained at Dub-School LA where he was coached and directed by Ezra Weisz, Claudia Zie, Nell Teare, Philip Maximillian, Tamara Pelzig and Landon Young. His voiceover training also includes voiceover auditioning and demo creation with Marlo Flanagan; commercial voiceover with Terry Berland (CSA); animation voiceover with Roxana Ortega; and video games with Dave Fennoy.
